Shameless name-dropping or effective marketing? You decide. But whatever conclusion you arrive at, this much is clear: this Wednesday's hottest ticket in the Big Apple - this side of Henry Cavill wandering yummily shirtless through Times Square* - is the Daily Kos meetup at 7 PM on the Lower East Side. Details over the orange thing in all of its, at best, debatable taste.
It's really quite simple: every once in a while, more often in the summer than the fall or winter, a bunch of New York Kossacks get together in a venue carefully chosen for cheap drinks, decent food and easy access with public transport. There's no agenda, just a bunch of folks you may have known for years under their screen handle, now present in the flesh, with a drink in their hand and a smile on their face. What's not to like?
On the business end - like I said, no agendas, just opportunities - we have front pager Armando, who needs no introduction, living legend that he is, and Charles Lenchner, Executive Director of Netroots New York.
When: Wednesday, November 30th, 2011, 7 p.m.
Where: Spitzer's Corner, 101 Rivington Street @ Ludlow Street, New York, NY 10002 (back room)

- Essex Street (J, M, Z), two blocks
- Grand Street (B, D), seven blocks
By car:
Parking can be a bit scarce on the Lower East Side, but there's usually a spot on either Rivington, Stanton or Sara Roosevelt Park, and a rankly socialist municipal parking lot on Essex between Rivington and Delancey ($3 first hour, $1.75 after)
RSVP:
Not required, but it helps with the planning and the little 'Hi my name is...' badge things. Yeah, it's that kind of party. To do so, please send me a PM via KosMail.
*Please note: completely made up or creative license, whichever you prefer.
