The defenders of ultimate greed have no idea what they are doing. They can feel it in the water, and you can hear it in the speech of hackneyed lobbyists running for President like Newt Gingrich. Part of the intellectual bedrock of the GOP for the last 20 years of fail, Newt is demanding that President Obama renounce the idea of the 99%. Leave the wealthiest 1% alone, says Newt, and how dare you divide us, you un-american kenyan with an anti-colonial world view!
I repudiate, and I call on the President to repudiate, the concept of the 99 and the 1. It is un-American, it is divisive, it is historically false…You are not going to get job creation when you engage in class warfare because you have to attack the very people you hope will create jobs.

Listen, Newtie, you can't call someone Un-American and then complain that they are being divisive two words later. It's intellectually dishonest. Though true to form, Newt Gingrich left the first two words before settling down with the third. The last thing Newt wants is an honest conversation about income inequality, campaign finance reform and Wall Street.
Newt Gingrich isn't an intellectual, he's a lobbyist who calls his political enemies un-american. If Newt had facts on his side he wouldn't need to drop the un-american bomb, but he doesn't. And Newt Gingrich likes to call people un-american a lot. In a debate, questioning someone's patriotism is the last refuge of a scoundrel.
Just jump into the way back machine, to the frightening age of oh just a year ago, when Newt pulled this out of the hole in the ground he has mistaken with another part of his anatomy . . .
Gingrich says that D’Souza has made a “stunning insight” into Obama’s behavior — the “most profound insight I have read in the last six years about Barack Obama.”
“What if [Obama] is so outside our comprehension, that only if you understand Kenyan, anti-colonial behavior, can you begin to piece together [his actions]?” Gingrich asks. “That is the most accurate, predictive model for his behavior.”

And the first way you can tell if someone has an understanding of kenyan, anti-colonial behavior is if they are black, right Newt? That's what Newt is saying, that's the only reason Kenya even gets mentioned. Why are Republicans constantly reminding me that Obama is kenyan, or black, or he doesn't have a birth certificate, ooh and he's so divisive!
Yes, how dare Obama divide us into the wealthiest 1% and everyone else? According to Newt, he should be dividing us into who is an un-american kenyan with anti-colonial world views and everyone else!
Unreal. The guy who calls you a Kenyan doesn't get to cry that you are dividing people, but I guess in a fair and balanced world it doesn't count if you are a Republican Presidential Candidate.
More below the fold
Pity the 1% and all their wealth, what enormous pressure they must feel to create jobs and sprout wealth creation from their ears as the unwashed huddled masses yearning to breathe free continue to engage in class war by protesting peacefully while riot gear police abuse and arrest us. What pain the "job creators" must feel to think we would ever tax them? Oh, the uncertainty of the marketplace, the unbearable uncertainty!
Dear Newt, I want you to realize that this isn't about Obama, it isn't even about you, it is about the other 99% of Americans who can't afford a lobbyist, but then, with your Tiffany's accounts and whatnot, I doubt you'd understand. This is about the mass majority of Americans who are getting robbed by Wall Street and special interests, and if you want to stand up and fight for those special interests, Newt, go for it, but we are going to laugh at you while you do it. This isn't about Democrats or Republicans, this isn't about left or right on this level, this is about the racket Wall Street has, the racket that these wars are, all of these rackets that you protect Newt, and frankly, Obama does a great job defending the rackets too. My beef is not specifically with Newt Gingrich, at least, it wasn't until he told us to go "Take a bath and get a job", but even then Newt is small potatoes, my beef is not with wealth itself, I have no problem with people being successful, my beef is with people who broke the law in the financial markets, the people who rigged the game in their own favor, and the people who use their wealth to subvert our democracy to their will, people like Newt Gingrich.
So go ahead, Newt, be the Presidential Candidate of the 1%, by the 1% and for the 1%. Occupy Wall Street may not be the best at defining ourselves, but we are blessed with idiots for enemies like Newt and Fox News who jump at the chance to defend the poor, innocent richest guy in the room from all those smelly divisive people who want a voice in our Democracy and can't afford a lobbyist like Newt Gingrich when he used to work for Freddie Mac.
Checkmate.
So I have @AndrewBreitbart trolling me on twitter, and I'm going on The Ed Schultz show tonight on MSNBC to discuss the evictions of OccupyLA and OccupyPhilly, among other things, plus I lost my cell phone and Rupert Murdoch is probably going through my voicemail as I write this. All in a day's work as we get ready to go down to D.C. on Monday to OccupyCongress.
Let me let you all in a little secret, the best offense is a good offense.
Peace and love to all
