So, probably at least some of us have been wondering how we could miss "Herb" Cain if he wouldn't go away. Wonder no more! ;D
Me think he won't go quietly into that good night. I'm still waiting for a marriage advice show on FAUX News with him & Governor SPARK! :D
Let's move on to "this day in history." On December 5, 1933, national Prohibition came to an end as Utah became the 36th state to ratify the 21st Amendment to the Constitution, repealing the 18th Amendment. Utah? UTAH??!!
On this date in 1996, Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan questioned whether the stock market was overvalued, saying in a speech in Washington,
How do we know when irrational exuberance has unduly inflated asset values?
Yea, how do we know that? Oh yea...the US & world economy nearly goes down the $hitter less then 10 years later, and we still haven't recovered from it, and those responsible still haven't been punished.
Sound about right?!
George Custer was born on this date in 1839. It turns out there was a reason he graduated DEAD LAST in his class from West Point!
Let's Countdown...
#5 "Newt & Nancy" AKA "Nancy Knows Newt" AKA "Ron Paul Time?" - Now, don't forget the 2 of them made a climate change ad together, so they did managed to coexist for enough time to put THAT together. Rep. Pelosi supposedly has "the goods" on Newt. Don't we pretty much know everything already? Rep. Barney Frank really wants Newt to be the nominee. ;D Newt's "acceptable" in the Gallup polls. Now, THAT'S an endorsement. NOW, "Herb"'s thinking of his family? Isn't he a little late on that score? Rep. Ron Paul's 2nd in IA; he thinks "Herb"'s peeps will go to him. Brian Beutler got the scoop from Rep. Pelosi about her "goods" on Newt. It sounds like she'd like for Newt to be the GOBP nominee, too! On the other hand, a whole mess of the GOBP would lurve to see Newt take it to a bunch of dirty stinkin' liberals in the media. Ken Vogel gets to throw in his 2 cents' worth concerning the likelihood of Rep. Paul soon being the GOBP flavor of the month. There is actually 1 house in my neighborhood that has a "Ron Paul 2012" yard sign; I used to walk by it nearly every day when I was walking. I chuckled every time. :D Ken thinks he could finish in the top 3 in IA but probably won't win the nomination. He also brought up the possibility of Rep. Paul running as a 3rd party candidate. Isn't Jon Huntsman talking that, too? Man on Dog thinks he'll win IA; watch out, doggies!!!!!!!!! If Governor Secession finishes strong in IA, he's in a good position for a long primary battle with Mittens. Gee, hasn't someone else not on the television machine mentioned something very similar to that? ;D I'm tellin' y'all; Governor Secession ain't done.
#4 "Occupy Day 80" AKA "Home Occupation" - The job - creating owners of Zuccotti Park are behind in their NYC taxes. Well, I'm sure we'd all get similar breaks if we were over #130K behind in our taxes, right? Right?? Hello??? {crickets} Rep. Pelosi admitted that Occupy efforts have helped the Dems. Rep. Paul also had kind words for Occupy? Gosh! New Occupy efforts are focusing efforts on preventing foreclosures. Occupy efforts in CO are under some snow - YUCK! Harold & Maria Steidel are fighting Wells Fargo to stay in their home; Occupy protestors are helping. Mr. Steidel lost his job in 2008 but was able to meet payment for a bit. The bank promised a modification; it never came. Now, THAT sounds familiar - all too familar. Rep. Louise Slaughter is trying to help, too.
"Time Marches On!" - It would appear the studio is currently experiencing technical difficulties; some candlelight would make things awfully romantic! :D A doggie really knows how to play dead - like of like those fainting goats! Tarmac workers at O'Hare were line dancing on the tarmac. Check out the Christmas lights! The Grisswold house is way more better. :D
#3 "Tax & Spin" AKA "Hypocrisy & Taxes" - President Obama is using the language of the dirty sparkin' hippies to talk about extending the payroll tax holiday? Golly! NOW, Senators of the GOBP ilk want this "tax cut" paid for. Former Labor Secretary Robert Reich gets payroll tax holiday duty. President Obama is FINALLY being damn clear about what the GOBP is all about. And, he couldn't do this during HCR why? Oh yea...the guy who's mayor of Chicago now helped with that. Why should I be surprised that no "journalist" has asked a GOBPer why these tax cuts need to be paid for when the GWB cuts for the super rich didn't? There are precious few actual "journalists" out there. If these tax cuts expire, taxes for working families will go up $1000; the lack of extending unemployment benefits will also be a bit of a drag on an already - craptacular economy.
WPITW - A FAUX Business Channel dude is anti - Muppet. Governor Secession (his campaign AIN'T dead, dear Keith!) got taken to town by the bat$hit VA AG. Oh, and he doesn't know what an executive order does. Well duh? He's folksy, remember? The major of Troy, MI got elected even after a homophobic slur. People are paying attention now. ;D
#1 "Trump Around" AKA "Trumping the Party" - The Donald is publishing a book at the same time he's "moderating" a MENSA meeting shortly after Christmas? He & Newtie got together today. I would NOT wanna be a fly on the room during that mother! They both want to ditch child labor laws. Lovely! Here's Maysoon Zayid! Where are the s'mores?! :D Oh dear, did I really need the image of Donald the Trump popping anyone or anything's cherry?! DAMN MY EYES! :D
