The U.S. Senate voted today to reject Richard Cordray's nomination to lead the Bureau of Consumer Financial Protection. All the senators who voted no are listed here, along with their career totals of financial industry campaign contributions.
I think they should give the money back. Call me naive, idealistic, whatever you want, but as John Lennon said, "I'm not the only one."
It might also be noteworthy, that the only Republican who voted for his nomination, Sen. Scott Brown, is running against Elizabeth Warren in Massachusetts, the Elizabeth Warren who built this new Bureau of Consumer Financial Protection.
