What Are You Working On is a community diary series for all things crafty and artsy, in a variety of mediums and techniques.
You may volunteer to guest host by joining this Yahoo group, which is checked from time to time. Also by joining this group, you will receive one email a week when the diary is posted. You may also volunteer to host by posting a comment in this diary.
If you click on the WAYWO group, there is a box for the group about 4 boxes down on the right hand side. If you click on the heart in this box, you will "follow" this group and the diary will appear in your "stream."
I am a painter rather than a crafter. My work is usually acrylic on canvas. (Oils made me crazy!) My pieces tend to be rather small as I'd never find the time to finish anything very large. I paint mostly landscapes of one sort or another. These run the gamut from western vistas to scenery from the Jersey shore.
Memory fails as to the year but I started painting many years ago as a teenager. I've managed to continue with it despite the distractions of college, law school, marriage and the birth of a child. (That last one is the biggest distraction by far!)
I've posted the progress of my paintings here on Saturday mornings at the same time as Frankenoid's garden series and claude's home repair series. (9:00 eastern) If you're up early it's a good time to indulge in a wealth of community diaries.
Currently I'm working on a painting of one of the well known Cape May, New Jersey Victorian mansions, the Physick Estate. It's on a 12 x 12 canvas, rather large for me. It's currently about midway through the painting process. It's directly below.
I've got a lot more work to do on this one. It will probably be several more weeks before it's done but I'm pleased with my progress so far.
