When I logged onto Daily Kos this morning I was immediately struck by the fact that there were no ads. I was puzzled and went over to my profile and checked under subscriptions and found this.
You can't purchase a new subscription for yourself. You already have a lifetime subscription.
It took a moment to sink in that someone has gifted me a lifetime subscription. That is when the tears started to flow.
I want to thank my benefactor from the bottom of my heart. Your generosity will never be forgotten. I can not tell you how much this means to me.
Daily Kos is an unique community. Founded on politics it has evolved into an extended family. We fight. We disagree and throw pies. We sulk. We are a typical family. We also come through for each other. I can not tell you the number of times that I've read a diary asking Kossacks to help a fellow member out. I am amazed at the number of quilts that Sara R has made and sent to those in need of comfort.
I think that the people who make up Daily Kos show the world what true compassion and caring is about. We are not the 1%. We are the 99%. We look out for and help our own. It is the reason that I duck flying pies and stay with Daily Kos. We may have political disagreements but when it comes to the heart we will always be there for each other.
