We are still No. 1, the first country to pull out of The Kyoto Treaty. The Minister of the Environment, Peter Kent, (former tv announcer) was called a 'piece of s**t on Tuesday by MP Justin Trudeau in Parliament. Mr. Trudeau, (son of former PM Pierre Elliot Trudeau) apologized yesterday but did not exactly recant. He apologized "for losing my temper."
Then the CBC, Canada's public broadcasting corporation found a tape from 1984 showing then announcer Peter Kent introducing a documentary on Greenhouse Warming.
Here is the CBC calling out Mr. Kent
For your further entertainment here is a vid by Greenpeace showing Mr. Kent falling in love with Ms. Big Oil
"He saw right through me, saw my true market value, sob"
There has been enormous push back from the Canadian people against the Government's action on Kyoto. The opposition in Parliament is also pushing back, though not hard enough. Our government has turned into a lobby for the Tar Sands and its pipelines. The majority of Canadians do not support The Tar Sands. In fact, the government is importing workers because it can't get enough Canadians to work at the horrendous site.
I'm baby-sitting right now, but I'll be back later.
