I would be LIVID if my judge refused to take calls regarding my case!
Is that Justice? Is that fair?
Is it even Legal? Any Legalista’s out there have the answer?
This came to me from an Occupy Cleveland-er. It breaks my heart.
It’s a real sign of how much our system is broken when a family can be evicted from their family home of 40 years just before Christmas with an appeal still waiting to be heard. One judge is on vacation, one refusing to take calls, and neither willing to let the eviction be part of a moratorium that starts in 2 business days. It almost seems like they’re doing everything they can to take property away from homeowners. The banks got a bailout with our tax dollars, but they systematically refuse to work with us to let us stay in our homes.
What happened here? These are not numbers slipping through the cracks, these are PEOPLE. Living in the home that has been in their family for over 35 years.
All she is asking for is someone in the courts to examine the open appeal.
What benefit is there for Orwell, Judge Vettel, Judge Yost, or even Highway Patrol to evict this family 2 days before the moratorium begins.
Do we live in a country which is ok with evicting a family of four from their family home while they still have an open case appeal?
Who else is this happening to?
