Mitt Romney challenged President Obama's loyalty to America after last night's debate
Speaking to Sean Hannity after last night's debate, Mitt Romney made a whopper of an allegation: that President Obama is knowingly doing harm to the United States in order to score political points.
I think the President has gone from being a failed presidency, a guy over his head, to someone who is now sort of desperate to get reelection, that he's doing things that are very much counter to the interests of the country and he knows it.
Romney's argument?
In the past I think he was just misguided. Now, I think he really knows that his decision on Afghanistan, to pull the troops out a couple of months earlier than the commanders suggested, that was not a wise thing for the country.
Huh? President Obama is disloyal because he decided to withdraw troops "a couple of months earlier" than Romney would have preferred?
Does Mitt Romney have any idea how ridiculous that sounds? After more than ten years in Afghanistan, does anybody think that two months will make any difference at all, much less define the difference between loyalty and disloyalty?
If Mitt Romney wants to accuse President Obama of being a secret agent for America's enemies, he's really going to need to do a better job than that. Better yet, maybe he should stop trying so damn hard to pander to tea party hatred of the president.
