First, the good news:
Today, Rep. Lamar Smith, MPAA puppet & author of the insidious, Internet-breaking "Stop Online Piracy Act" (SOPA), suddenly announced a delay in the House Judiciary Committee's markup of the bill, citing a need to talk to security tech experts. (Funny how he never thought he needed them before...)
However, this delay looks likely to last only until Wednesday of next week:
During a markup session earlier today, Chairman Lamar Smith acknowledged that the Judiciary Committee didn’t yet have all the facts, especially on the cybersecurity questions. After an amendment vote he abruptly announced that markup would be suspended, and consideration of the bill would be resumed at the next practicable opportunity — which is tentatively scheduled for next week, but could be pushed to late January.

Hollywood is still determined to rush this through Congress without a decent hearing in the dead of night —so we still need to keep calling, emailing, & faxing Congress & spreading the word to as many people as possible in as many ways as you can.

Keep the pressure on. It's STILL up to you!
