Hide the kids, pass the ammo and pour Bill O'Reilly five or six drinks, because the War on Christmas just got real.
The National Rifle Association's website is currently featuring a "Happy Holidays" message from NRA radio hosts Cam Edwards and Ginny Simone and "the entire NRA News team."
Nooooooo! The National Rifle Association, saying Happy Holidays rather than the Jesus-and-Bill-O'Reilly-approved Merry Christmas? This is quite the escalation.
Now, I'm certain the Fox News crowd will be all over this, but consider this: This is the most heavily armed group to come out against Christmas in, like, the entire existence of the War on Christmas. With the possible exception of Wal-Mart, of course.
How will the pro-Christmas forces respond? Will they launch a counter-salvo? Will the NRA issue an apology for wishing people happiness for more than one holiday at a time? I'm pretty sure wishing someone "Happy Holidays" is a Muslim thing, or at least suspiciously pro-New-Year.
Stay tuned: We'll be following this story all through the Christmas season. Or not, since nobody except a small group of crackpots really give a crap.
