I'm sorry if this has been done before, but if so, I can't seem to find it.
How do you read Daily Kos? Do you get an RSS feed? Do you come to the website directly? Is it consolidated in some other reader?
Secondly, what do you read first? Columnists? Recommended diaries? Spotlight diaries?
Thirdly, how often do you return to Daily Kos on a daily basis?
Personally, I go to www.dailykos.com.
Then I always scan the Recommended list first. I typically read about 3 or 4 of them, commenting and adding my own recs as I see fit.
Then I go back to the front page and read the featured articles. I have my favorite authors, but in general, everybody who writes for the front page are top notch. Good hiring Markos!
Then I go back and pour through the Community Spotlight. I like how this is now in prominent position at the top. I made the Community Spotlight list once, but it didn't add much in he way of comments or rec's. I thought that was odd, but perphaps, others out there are like me---skipping that section until last.
Every nowandagain, I'll go into the tabs at the top of the page to see what's going on. Occasionally, I find something I would have otherwise missed.
I do this first about 10:00am every day. I return about 4:00. Many times I'll scan the page a third time before I go to bed.
I've been curious about this for a long time. I hope enough Kossacks see this post and comment about their own habits...even if others have posted the same thing. This way we can get a feel for how people use the site.
Happy Holidays everybody!
