Hey! You! America! I'm ready for you to beg me to run for president! Come on, please?

Hahahahahahahahaha:
As for his own potential presidential bid, [Donald] Trump said he had just heard about the activists in Texas who filed paperwork to create the “Make America Great Again Party” for him to run as an independent. [...]
Trump said he would consider a third-party bid if the Republican Party selects “the wrong candidate.”
“I do have my ducks in line if I want to do it, but I’d love to see the Republicans pick somebody that was going to win and take over this country and frankly, to use the expression, make America great again.”
Poor Donald. It's all been downhill for the guy ever since Barack Obama took away his main campaign issue by releasing his long-form birth certificate and then, days later, making him the butt of everyone's jokes at the White House Correspondents' Dinner and then, days after that, really rubbing salt in the wound by interrupting Trump's reality TV show to announce that, oh by the way, Obama took care of that Osama Bin Laden guy who's been giving us so much trouble all these years. Which shortly thereafter led to this:
Donald Trump has had one of the quickest rises and falls in the history of Presidential politics. Last month we found him leading the Republican field with 26%. In the space of just four weeks he's dropped all the way down to 8%, putting him in a tie for fifth place with Ron Paul. [...]
As Trump got more and more exposure over the last month Republicans didn't just decide they weren't interested in having him as their nominee- they also decided they flat don't like him. Only 34% of GOP voters now have a favorable opinion of Trump to 53% who view him in a negative light.
And then, perhaps worst of all, even his fellow birthers deserted him when they realized:
... that Trump was now scheming with the White House—and perhaps had been plotting with the Obama crowd all along. They speculated that Trump had been bought off, pointing out that his retreat from birthersm and his attacks on GOP 2012 contenders suspiciously coincided with NBC's renewal of his reality show, Celebrity Apprentice. Somehow, the pair said, the government had given money to NBC that ended up with Trump. (They didn't provide details.)
But screw all that. Trump is still convinced of his own greatness. And besides:
"Certainly there are millions of people that would like to see me do something — not because of me, but because I want to protect this nation. We’re being eaten alive by other nations and by, frankly, people that are not smart that are representing us,” Trump said.
Yeah. Millions of people want to see Trump "do something." Like maybe shut the hell up and go away.
