This is pretty clever: the Obama campaign has purchased the digital equivalent of a full-page advertisement on the Des Moines Register on the same day as the Iowa Caucuses:
The Obama campaign bought up the front page of the Des Moines Register website for today's Iowa caucuses
Initially, the top banner
didn't include a disclaimer, but even though it's now absolutely clear it's an ad, it still gets the message across.
Message-wise, there's nothing surprising about the tax cuts and Wall Street points, but it's notable that Iraq is one of the issues highlighted by the Obama team. It's easy to forget, but Romney really is on the wrong side of that issue: he's not just pissed that the war is over, but he wants to send 10,000 to 30,000 troops back into Iraq—even without immunity. It's crazy stuff, and if he's the nominee, he's going to have a helluva' time defending his position.
