To the GOP, and those running for president- it looks like he stole your talking points.

Compare and contrast this with what Newt, Mitt and Rick believe their version of a christian america should be.

Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Mitt Romney: his plan raises taxes on poor families. Under the Romney tax plan, the poor will pay 60% more in taxes, and the rich will pay 15% less.
Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.
Herman Cain: "If you don't have a job and you are not rich, blame yourself!"
Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.
MICHELE BACHMANN: "President Obama’s plan for socialized medicine will threaten the very heart of the U.S. economy and endanger the national security of our nation as it drains valuable resources away from a strong national defense.”
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.
Rick Santorum: "I think the British national health care system is a devastating program to the country. It makes it dependent. It's a devastating thing for society."
Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.
Ron Paul: "This whole idea that you have to compare and take care of everybody…”
Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.

Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.

Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me.

Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

Another republican talking point.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
