We are continually being exploited, used and abused. Our attention diverted by many devious powers in control. Being aware of the motives is the beginning of finding a solution for self and for the society we desire.

We, the people, have been under attack for decades now and in so many ways. Some attacks on us are obvious to most, such as lack of real news and information by the Corrupted Media Corporations; trickle down economics by the Corrupted GOP and 1%; Religious hypocrisy by Corrupt compassionate conservatives; Corporate owned and controlled Corrupt politicians and government and a SERIOUSLY Corrupt greedy healthcare conglomerate known as BIG PHARMA. Big Pharma is the third MOST PROFITABLE Corporate Group in the World.

When we hear the words disorder, disease or illness, we think of an individual in need of treatment, not of a troubled society in need of transformation. Mental illness expansionism diverts us from examining a dehumanizing society.

7 Reasons America's Mental Health Industry Is a Threat to Our Sanity

1.. Corruption by Big Pharma

2. Invalid Illnesses and Disorders

3. Scientifically Unreliable Diagnoses

4. Biochemical Imbalance Mumbo Jumbo

5. Pseudoscientific Drug Effectiveness Research

6. Psychotropic Drug Hypocrisy

7. Diversion from Societal, Cultural and Political Sources of Misery

When we hear the words disorder, disease or illness, we think of an individual in need of treatment, not of a troubled society in need of transformation. Mental illness expansionism diverts us from examining a dehumanizing society.

In addition to pathologizing normal behavior, the mental health profession also diverts us from examining a society that creates the ingredients—helplessness, hopelessness, passivity, boredom, fear, and isolation—that cause emotional difficulties. We are diverted from the reality that many emotional problems are natural human reactions to loss in our society of autonomy and community. Thus, the mental health profession not only has financial value for drug companies but it has political value for those at the top of societal hierarchies who want to retain the status quo.

Today, a handful of dissident mental health professionals do challenge and resist their profession’s dehumanizing standard practicies. I know several of these dissidents, and they are the only psychiatrists, psychologists and mental health professionals that I have any respect for.

Many of us have become trapped and/or Addicted in one or all of These Corporate Prisons.

OWS is waking many up, but there are so many issues that need fixing and we're so easily distracted by more cover ups or new shiny objects that many just give in and give up.

OR we start to attack each other, especially if one has been entrapped by one or more of the Corporate, Political, Religious, Medical TRAPPERS defending things we're really against or know little about.

Getting on the same page about anything these days seems near impossible. Maybe agreeing that all of us are in the 99% and we all have many personal battles that are truly human and society values is a start.

Please Read this again. This is KEY and important:

the mental health profession not only has financial value for drug companies but it has political value for those at the top of societal hierarchies who want to retain the status quo.

Status Quo Has Got to Be Stopped!

And on a side note:

Big Pharma/Health Care GREED fraud and abuse is even Corrupting the Hospice program!

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
