Last night, Rachel brought up Governor Haley Barbour's influx of "generosity" with pardons on his final day in office. It turns out that the "honorable" Governor was in such a rush to get out of that government job & back into the private sector he forgot all about that darn state constitution - OOPS!
Let's get SPARKy! :) What can of story can this guy think up to tell the taxidermist? If any of you are trying to "de - clutter" your life, you might want to take a closer look at what you're tossing out! When this critter sings, "It's not easy being green," I bet it's got a teeny - tiny - little voice. :D Finally, this BRILLIANT criminal didn't quite get the correct meaning of "Location - Location - Location".
On with The Rachel Maddow Show!
"Rin Tin Ear" - The Boston Globe ran some sort of human interest story about Mittens back in 2007 when he was running for POTUS the last time. That's how we learned about the dog - on - the - car thing. The Ames IA peeps voted for him after the story came out anyway! Chris Wallace actually took Mittens to task for what he did!! :) Doggie was not enjoying its ride. Poor thing. The reporter who wrote the original story has tried to stay out of the limelight; he's written a new story to "update." There's a SpreadingRomney.com meaning "to defecate in terror." Wow! :) Newtie's even jumped on the doggie bandwagon. There's a Pets With Newt site! :) Mittens doesn't do the "I feel your pain" stuff; he just dishes out the pain to man & beast. It looks right now, at least, that income inequality & lost opportunity is going to be a big part of the Obama re - election campaign. Mittens calls it envy. Steve Kornacki gets doggie duty & doggie doodie! ;D Mr. Steve talked about that shoe - shine picture from the Countdown diary; FOKRs haz teh smart!! :D
"Membership Has Its Privileges" - CNN's gonna have a little debate in SC 2 days before their primary. According to CNN's own rules, Governor Secession doesn't qualify, and a whole mess of people are contortioning themselves to prove that he is or is not gonna be a part of the thing. He doesn't cut it on the "7% average poll stuff." I think CNN wants him in the thing for entertainment potential alone. :D We learned about Governor Secession losing 1 of his campaign sugar daddies. Felicia Sonmez broke the donor story. Nearly $2 million's been spent on ads in SC, but Governor Secession's numbers have dropped from 11% to 5% since November. Hey! Ya' gotta get more folksy; my prediction's at stake, damn it! 2 other big donors ditched, too. Senator Waterloo's coming to Mittens' defense on the whole Bain thing? Won't that destroy the tea bagger love?!
"The Operators" - Michael Hastings is the guy who wrote the article about Stanley McCrystal?! WOW! AND, he's written a book. OK, I might have to try to get my paws on that sucker. Firing a war - time general is a rare thing, but it had to be done, or "civilian control" of the military would've been compromised. Twice as many Americans have died in Afghanistan under the Obama Administration then under GWB's reign. Well, GWB didn't have US personnel in Afghanistan; he sent them all to Iraq! General McCrystal was THE permanent counter - insurgency dude, and he did not like civilian control of the military - obviously! Mr. Hastings is correct; we really don't have too many "big name generals" now. THAT'S an interesting observation. Generals use the media to push their agenda. David Petraeus might be a GOBP VP pick? I so DO NOT see him going for that if asked. The Pentagon DID NOT like what was said in the article. Troop morale in Afghanistan is probably pretty damn low; I cannot imagine why. *&^%$#@!
Stephen Colbert might actually run for POTUS?! WHAT??!! Wouldn't that be a big 'ol pay cut? ;D
