So ColbertNewsHub tells me Stephen's got:
Reverend Scott Douglas. He’s the executive director of Greater Birmingham Ministries (GBM), a “multi-faith, multi-racial organization dedicated to serving people in need, pursuing justice, and building stronger communities.” With representatives from over 20 religious faiths, GBW works with low-income people/families, and focuses on solving practical, immediate problems, be it buying groceries or paying the electric bill. At the same time as it dispenses charity, the organization engages in political action to enable long-term structural change in society. According to an article on The Birmingham News, Scott will discuss Alabama’s draconian immigration law, which has sent non-documented workers fleeing the state.
But first: Jon's working the mainstream, with Jodi Kantor's unauthorised biography of the Obamas. I haven't seen a huge amount of attention to this, other than Michelle's "some angry black woman" comment. But then, I've been watching things like this:
Search by Image, Recursively, Transparent PNG, #1 from kingcosmonaut3000 on Vimeo.

"(Briefly NSFW) Sebastian Schmieg took a single image and fed it into Google Image Search, then picked its top “similar image” over and over, gradually morphing through over 2950 images."
The artist's site is sebastianschmieg.com/searchbyimage/ -- he's got some others up. The one where pictures of the Earth briefly develop googly-eyes is worth the extra clicks. |
