Talk about it here. Watch it live on CNN or
online.
5:22 PM PT: Romney tries to defend his 100K+ jobs claim. He cites 120K jobs at four companies, and then says only 10K jobs have been documented lost by his political enemies. Of course, Romney hasn't revealed the documentation for all of Bain's investments. So this settles nothing.
5:22 PM PT: Rick Santorum says he's for capitalism too ... not necessarily high finance capitalism, but capitalism that works for working people. (Remember a couple of debates ago when he said Republicans shouldn't even use the phrase "working class"? My oh my, how quick he flips.)
5:25 PM PT: Haha, Dave Weigel on Newt's ferocious pushback on the attacks on his adultery:
This reminds me of the time Gingrich BLEW UP at the media for covering the Lewinsky scandal.
5:28 PM PT: Rick Santorum, spewing bullshit about Obama cutting veterans benefits, says (in artfully) that Vietnam vets came back "damaged" and "that's part of their unemployment problem."
5:29 PM PT: Mitt Romney wants each state to have their own G.I. Bills. He wants veteran care to be block granted and then handled by states.
5:31 PM PT: Okay, I'm not an expert by any stretch on veterans issues ... but wouldn't handing veterans benefits off to the states be a tremendous abrogation of the federal government's obligation to care for the people who served in its military?
5:33 PM PT: The Father of Obamacare is now talking about how he not only wants to repeal Obamacare, but he can convince Democrats to do it. Then he starts listing off features of Obamacare that he wants to keep: portability, banning preexisting conditions, et cetera.
5:36 PM PT (Kaili Joy Gray): The liveblogging continues in the next thread.
