1953 – 68% of all television sets in the United States are tuned in to I Love Lucy to watch Lucy give birth. Southern Christian conservatives complain and threaten to boycott.

2011 - A makeover of the CERN findings suggesting faster than light particles seems to confirm that our current understanding of space time is fucked.

COINCIDENCE? I Think NOT!

“The idea that a congressman would be tainted by accepting money from private industry or private sources is essentially a socialist argument.”

"I fully expect the Romney campaign to be dirty and dishonest . . . "

FROM THE CHURCH OF INEFFABLE STUPIDITY:

First, Perry's drugs cause a slump.
Then, the "McBain" files take a dump.
Now, Newt's Number Two leaves the sump.

If there was any further proof needed about how vicodin and other opiates can cause mental confusion, Rick Perry is the poster child for living in own iCloud. Ever since his back surgery, not only has he been factually confused, forgetful and . . . . whatever.

On one hand,  you have John McCain as your former arch enemy. If you needed any proof of that, the 300+ page attack manual that his team collected on Willard Romney is proof of just how much McCain feared the mormon during the primaries, and how far he was willing to go to cut Mitt's legs from underneath him.

On the other hand, you have John McCain introducing Mitt as his preferred candidate. And other than accidentally saying something nice about President Obama, it looked like the old hatchet of hatred was buried.

Now, it turns out that it was buried in Mitt's back. How else could the attack manual surface and find its way into the hands of several media outlets, the Obama campaign, and even Newt's campaign staff?

To paraphrase Neil Young, "Tonight's the night." As dark as Neil's album was, the skies are darker for the Newt. His first (?) adulteress and second wife once promised that one little interview with her would be enough to derail any Newt campaign. So, tonight, ABC is broadcasting just that interview. Get your popcorn out.

If you think about it, every single frontrunner has been attacked and has had their campaign effectively sabotaged. Except for Perry. That drug addled dude really had no choice. I KNOW how badly that post surgical pain can be, and to quote Newt, "Frankly," I feel bad for him. I suggest he go home and find a really comfortable chair. Me? I'm still trying to find one.

So, who dropped a dime on Willard and leaked the McCain attack manual?
What will Marianne say about the Newt?
And when will Santorum realize that there's nothing left of his campaign except to wipe up the stains?

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
