As most of you know from many excellent diaries, we are currently battling anti-union legislation here in Indiana. This legislation is the brainchild of ALEC. The current State Representative in my district, David Frizzell, is the Chair of ALEC’s public sector board this year.
Our district is just south of downtown Indianapolis, taking in the southern portion of Marion County and a part of Johnson County. While the district is rather conservative, it is also home to many laborers and teachers, who have either already been affected by the overreach of our General Assembly, or face the threat posed by pending legislation. Despite demographics within the district that would suggest that no property tax increase could possibly pass in this area, two school referenda passed just this past year, due to funding shortfalls caused by our Republican-dominated legislature.
My name is Ryan Guillory, and I am running for State Representative in Indiana House District 93. I have spent the last two years working actively on campaigns in this area, and I know this district well. I’m running to fight for workers, for the middle class, and for all of the voiceless who are currently under attack in our State by an overreaching, and sometimes cruel, Republican House of Representatives. I’m running to provide responsible and responsive leadership to the people of District 93, not a special interest group that represents and enacts legislation on behalf of out-of-state corporations.
Please help us topple a national chair of ALEC. You can follow our campaign on Facebook, at Ryan Guillory for State Representative, District 93 or on Twitter, @RyanForHouse93.
If you are able to do so, please contribute to our fight and show your support for our campaign and the people of District 93 by making a donation of $4.93 or some other amount through ActBlue. If you cannot do so, please know that your moral support and encouragement as we move forward will be greatly appreciated.
And please don't forget to support our current Representatives who are making tremendous sacrifices for our workers and their families.
