I hope someone with the technical skills to do it will make a video compilation of all the things Newt Gingrich has said he will do on his "first day in office." I think he adds one or two more things every time he speaks.
Every time Newt debates or speaks he always says something he is going to do on his "first day in office" and it never seems like the same thing. He has listed so many that if someone could make it into a video it would be hilarious.
Now, I assume he does mean his "first day in office" and not his "first FULL day in office."
The next President's first day will, of course, be January 20, 2013 at noon. That leaves only 12 hours left in the day. You do have to take the oath of office, give a speech and attend a parade, galas and fancy balls. That doesn't leave much of those 12 hours to do all the things Newt has promised. Basically, when he says this it is just a joke.
People must think this means he is really serious about something when he says that. As a side issue I did see that on January 21, 1977, President Carter's first full day in office, he did pardon all Vietnam draft dodgers so we know big things can happen on the "first day", but Newt's promises are insanely too many.
Anyone who can assemble them all will quickly be an internet star with a viral video I am sure.
