One has to wonder exactly what he means by this
the former Gov. said “I think it’s time we had someone in the White House who knows how to create jobs because he’s had a job.”
So basically helping others doesn't count as a community organizer, nor does being a lecturer in Constitutional law, or perhaps the there is a darker interpretation.
Could a so patently fallacious statement be viewed otherwise?
The tenor of the campaign so far with the pandering by all and sundry to the extreme right both with respect to religion, race and phoney family values.
This statement tries to appeal to the baser instincts of the Republican base but without actually going the whole mile, it is in effect following the Gingrich strategy. How to appeal to racists without actually appealing to racists directly.
Would they have used such a statement against a successful white President? Hardly, such a charge would be absurd, but somehow because the President is an African American they believe such a statement will have weight.
It follow similar to philosophies that the President could not have been a natural born American, a strong family man is against the family and that somehow a practicing Christian is a Muslim.
The statement is fundamentally racist in its intended meaning, hey look Obama is African American, hell, just like all African Americans I bet he never had a job.
Yes I find this statement when viewed in the current climate, extremely offensive.
