The highlight of the speech for me was 'stop teaching to the test'.
The highlight of the evening for me was Gabby hugging the President.
The one thing that concerned me was the Iran saber rattling.
The one thing that disappointed me was no surprise announcement of support for gay marriage.
But overall, in a word, it was awesome. Obama's best speech. He knocked it out of the park and into orbit. The GOP must be seething with envy that they don't have a single candidate with a quarter of the charisma that Obama has.
I decided to listen to Mitch for a minute. Seriously, what is wrong with whoever it is that picks these people to follow Obama? This guy is so boring it hurts. But, Andrea Mitchell looked like she wants to have this guy's babies. She must get turned on by boring... oh, right... she's married to Greenspan. Yikes.
Oh, and what the hell happened to FDL? I decided to browse around to see responses and they look like they got taken over by a bunch of deranged tea baggers. There was more hate in those comments than in the comments of Yahoo news. I guess when whatshername partnered with Norquest that it wasn't just a one time thing. Wow.
Anyway, I am glad that Obama is President and I am going to do my damnest to make sure he stays President for another term.
Oh, and I caught a bit of Mitt tonight too. Why in the world would he follow Obama tonight? How dumb can he be? Oh, right, dumb enough to try to excuse only paying 13.9% taxes by claiming the company he earned income from already paid taxes. That's true of everyone who works for a company and they still have to pay taxes. And he claimed they paid 35%. Why do I doubt that it paid that much? Hmmmm... the words Cayman and Swiss come to mind.
What are your thoughts on the SOTU?
