This is "Breaking" news on the CBC but I hesitate to use it in the title of this diary. But it is big news!
British police searched the offices of Rupert Murdoch's British newspapers Saturday after arresting a police officer and four current and former staff of his tabloid The Sun as part of an investigation into police bribery by journalists.
The arrests spread the scandal over tabloid wrongdoing — which has already caused the closure of one tabloid, the News of the World — to a second Murdoch newspaper.
There isn't a whole lot of news out there beyond this right now. Perhaps we'll get more in a little while. But I think we can safely say the Murdoch empire continues to crumble before our very eyes.

The BBC has more on the story and Murdoch and his crew are in full damage control. Part of that seems to be throwing people under the bus.
A BBC source said this was an effort aimed at "draining the swamp" so as to restore journalistic integrity at News International titles.
News Corporation and its Management and Standards Committee (MSC) issued a statement following the arrests saying it had made a commitment last summer that unacceptable news gathering practices by individuals in the past would not be repeated.
This is far from over.
