I scuffled online with some anti-choice folks over this whole Komen/Planned Parenthood thing. Of course, the anti-choicers were doing their usual dance.
But my thought is -- ok, a small amount of PP's time and resources go to abortions. How is that balanced by the other things they do?
How many pregnancies are actually saved as a result of health care provided by PP? How many women's lives are saved by health screenings such as those they provide for breast cancer? How many women are better off today because of the family planning services they provide? How many children don't have to grow up without a mother because of PP?
Funny how those who blow a gasket over a small part of PP's services don't weigh those things into the balance.
