Nancy Brinker, the CEO of SGK, is featured on a youtube videoresponding to all of the controversy about their decision to drop funding for PP.
I am never one to make a quick decision about my opinion. Maybe, I thought, there might be some reason other than what appears to be the truth for the SGK decision. So I watched the video with an open mind.
Oh. My. God.
Anyone doubting what this group is up to should watch their defense. And then they should comment on Youtube. And then they should give a like or dislike. Hopefully, a dislike. The number for now is 4,017 dislikes and 998 likes
What's clear to me, other than the SGK intent, was that this organization has yet to hire a PR person of any talent. I'm not sure how best to sum up what Brinker said -- Self-righteous, disingenuous, condescending, assuming that people are stupid. You know, it's one thing to make a horrible decision, it's quite another not to have the guts to defend it. Instead, they try to pretend that it was all just coincidence that PP got defunded. Beyond their control. Just something that happened.
Bullsh*t.
In their response, Brinker doesn't even have the courage to mention the WORDS Planned Parenthood. Instead she pretends that the decision is part of some over-arching repositioning of contributions. Want to avoid duplicative funding, you see.
Ok, I thought. Didn't know there was any other organization providing the level of services for mammograms for poor women. And the others are......?
Oh. She doesn't mention any. In fact, she doesn't mention anything. Just, well, we repositioned, and that has required us to drop some things.
She doesn't mention PP is the only one removed. She doesn't mention the decision to appoint a political hack who even now portrays herself on her twitter account as a conservative Republican first, without mentioning breast cancer or the search for a cure. (Being a republican, of course, is the most important thing. SOB's.)
I have contributed about $10,000 a year to SGK, and participated every year in the walk for a cure.
That's it for me. All my money goes to PP from now on. To hell with SGK. Don't even need to say that though -- hell is exactly the destination for these political hacks who are more than willing to let women die for their political causes.
