UPDATE 1:04PM EST - This mornings severe weather reports from the media
Heavy snowstorm hits Colorado on its way east
DENVER—A powerful winter storm swept across Colorado on Friday as it headed east, bringing blizzard warnings to eastern Colorado and western Kansas, and winter storm warnings for southeast Wyoming and western Nebraska.
The storm stretched as far south as New Mexico, where Department of Transportation reported difficult driving conditions on several state highways because of the winter weather, leaving highways snow packed and icy.
Severe Storms Ignite Across Oklahoma, Texas
Perhaps the IOWA warning is because there is a chance these two storms will collide there. If I were living in IOWA, and I could, I would park my vehicles where hail can't damage them. If I have this prediction wrong, well it's still better to be safe than sorry.
Thunderstorms erupting from south-central Kansas to northwestern Texas were just the start of the latest severe weather outbreak Thursday night into this morning.
The risk of damaging storms will progress eastward today and into the weekend.
The main threats with these storms will be large hail, high winds and flash flooding. However, there is the potential for a few tornadoes with the strongest thunderstorms.
Many other areas are involved, but Northwestern and Northern Texas, Oklahoma and Kansas NOW. Possible Tornados, hail, high winds.
Below are links to weather services on line. If you are planning a trip, you might want to check these first so you can see where the wicked weather paths are and avoid them. Please take care, be safe.
Also, there is a very strange radar anomaly over Goodland, Kansas in the above vid.
