If the Far Right's latest efforts to shift blame away from George Bush (who chose the Foxes from Wall Street to guard the country's financial hen-house with catastrophic results). Rush Limbaugh is now blaming the deepest economic downturn since the Great Depression not on Obama's economic policies or their convoluted attempts to make big government into the villain but on the fact of Obama's very election!
For the record, the average unemployment rate under Bush was 5.2%. It was only as high as 7.3% one time, and that was the last month of Bush's regime, and that happens to coincide with the bottom falling out of the national mood after Obama had won. That's when businesses started firing people, laying people off, was after November of 2008.

Limbaugh treats this listeners like they didn't live through 2008 in the same universe the rest of the country did. They spent 2008 in a universe where an despicable evil doer from the Democrat Party coming to power is what caused the last three years of economic dislocation and pain.
