Bat$hit Bachmann claimed in an interview the other day that she would've been the PERFECT MENSA candidate to defeat President Obama in November. I have just 1 thing to say about that.
Let's get SPARKy! :D If this gem of an item is on your bucket list, ya' better think twice. There's a zombie Charles Dickens running around, and he's on teh Twitter! Don't forget to hug your hyena today. :) Finally, this dude is SPARKIN' NUTS!
Let's Countdown...
#5 "Race for the Door" AKA "Komen Controversy" - Karen Handel, the MENSA bat$hitter who ran for Governator of GA on a platform of getting rid of Planned Parenthood then got a job at the Susan G. Komen Foundation & was the "brain child" of that organization's decision to defund Planned Parenthood, resigned today claiming she's the victim of some sort of political witch hunt. And, I sincerely hope she DID let the door hit her in the a$$ on the way out! Komen changing their minds only applies to this year; there is absolutely nothing preventing them from doing this again or finding another reason to defund organizations at odds with their politics or their bottom line. Nancy Brinker first insisted that politics played no role in the change of heart over the PP funding. The lovely Ms. Handel found a microphone at FAUX News; paint me shocked - NOT. The PP response took the high road. Becky Bond is glad to see Ms. Handel gone - as should anyone who's actually concerned about women's health. Ms. Bond thinks the Komen Foundation will clean house "at the top"; I'd like to believe that.
** Special Comment: Karen Handel helped the Komen Foundation foment a political witch hunt against PP, so her claiming being the victim of a witch hunt is RICH. What she began could affect women's lives. PP, since all this $hit began, has received way more than enough donations to offset any cutting off of funds from Komen. So, is anyone running against Cliff Stearns in FL?! Komen is still fibbing about what led up to this crap.
Mrs. Brinker has dishonored her sister's memory.
Yea, that's putting it mildly.
#4 "Overturning H8te" AKA "California Love" - In case y'all have been under a rock today, 3 judges from the 9th circuit court of appeals affirmed the lower court's ruling that Prop 8 is unconstitutional & violates the 14th Amendment. :D :D :D :D Somewhere some how, Harvey Milk is smiling! HOWEVER, if I was a homosexual in CA in a loving stable relationship, I wouldn't be sending out those wedding invitations quite yet. I just love love LOVE these words from Judge Stephen Reinhardt:
Proposition 8 serves no purpose, and has no effect, other than to lessen the status and human dignity of gays and lesbians in California, and to officially reclassify their relationships and families and inferior to those of opposite - sex couples. The constitution simply does not allow for 'laws of this sort.'
Yep, just as I figured, there will probably be a stay in today's ruling. The "usual suspects" acted predictably. Cases against DOMA are also making their way to SCOTUS, so the issue of marriage equality will eventually end up on their docket - hopefully after Scalia, Alito, and Thomas are GONE BABY GONE. Michael Cole Schwartz gets the happy duty to discuss today's ruling. I read a good chunk of the ruling today, and Prop 8 supporters even tried to use the fact the lower court judge is gay to try to make their case stronger! IDIOTS!
"Time Marches On!" - For a second night in a row, Keith has "creatively acquired" material from my diary drafts! OK, am I the only one who "doesn't get" that Will Ferrell ad for beer? The Giants' parade was today, but some folk were looking for Mark Sanchez - OOPS! Uh - oh! Keith probably made some people in my fair city angry when he said Peyton would end up with the Jets! ;D Some musicians in North Korea are rocking out on accordions. Oh dear!
#3 "Turning PAC" AKA "Following the Money" - Ya' know what? My opinion might be a minority one in these parts, but I am all for the decision the Obama campaign made today! We are stuck with Citizens United for the near future; let's make it work for us, too, damn it! To not do so would be like bringing a spork to a gun fight. To not do so would ensure future SCOTUS justices ready to bring back those good 'ol turn - of - the - century values. Neither President Obama nor VP Biden nor their spouses will appear at SuperPAC events. Mittens is insisting that a recent poll that had him losing to President Obama is the result of "cooked books"; he's been watching FAUX News way too long. Joe Williams gets SuperPAC change - of - heart duty. President Obama has voiced support for a constitutional amendment to overturn Citizens United - which will never happen. And, Keith stole one of my references, too - nearly; I like my spork image better, thank you. ;D
WPITW - Rick Berman is a big 'ol lobbyist who portrayed a mechanic in an anti - union Super Bowl ad. Some dude from The American Family Association is targeting Ellen DeGeneres - yea, good luck with that! A FL state rep forgot to take ALEC language out of a bill she submitted - OOPS!
#1 "FAUX News Channel" - So, Jerry Springer went right to FAUX News to diss their coverage of President Obama. Why do I have that scene from Austin Powers running through my head? :D Besides, the folks in Jerry Springer's audience probably watch FAUX News, so I'm sure he knew how to handle himself! The resident blond bimbo took issue with Mr. Springer's diss. Mr. Springer claims he didn't go to FAUX News to make trouble. ;) Yea, I usually don't intend to cause trouble, either, but sometimes, trouble catches up with me. :) The FAUX News camera folk apologized to Mr. Springer after the segment? OK!
