I promised myself in December that when January rolled around, I would send some cash to the small donor's pool at the St. Francis Energy Company in St. Francis, South Dakota to provide propane to Native Americans on the Rosebud Reservation.
January was a tough month at Daily Kos; there were other folks who needed helping and the dollars I had dedicated shrunk to nothing.
Now it's February and we can see from the weather forecast that the arctic air which has been so harsh in Europe is finally headed our way.
Send a Valentine's gift of warmth to Rosebud ! Send a check in any amount to:
St. Francis Energy Company / Valandra's II
P.O. Box 140
St. Francis, South Dakota 57572 (Payable to St. Francis Energy)
Attn. Sherry or Patsy / Small Donor's Pool
When enough is in the fund, a drop of propane can be made to a family on the reservation. Since the minimum drop is $150, the small donor's pool was established for those who want to help, but cannot commit to $150.00. I can't give that much; tonight I wrote a check for $50.00.
St. Francis Energy will also take a donation over the phone using a credit card. You can call from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Daily, MSTime.
Phone number: 1-605-747-2542 alternate number 1-607-208-8888.
I first saw an original diary with more information that was written during the Subscription Drive and other diaries have had reminders, but the time is right for me to send a check, and so, if you want to warm hearts, fingers and toes in February, you can make a call or send a check too. Thanks for reading!
