I am an Indian citizen with an avid interest in the US political process. Not to mention an avid fan of President Obama. I think he is the coolest man in the world . Nothing that has the ability to upset him. But people do often mistaken his calm and composed demeanor to one of detachment. Of course the Fox News crowd does not help. As some one who has been in the country since Bush took office, I can say that the one talking points that Obama needs is probably this. I hope his boys in Chicago make note of this.
Typically any breaking of the road laws, say, speeding, stays on your record for a minimum of 3-5 years before it gets flushed out of your record system. Now, from 2001 to 2008, the country has accumulated so many tickets ( besides a murder rap or two) that it was going to take forever to flush such tickets ( toxins) out of the system. It was not going to happen suddenly beginning in Jan 2009. The toxins are being slowly flushed out now.
You cannot turn a huge aircraft carrier on a dime. It takes time and space to turn. Such is the nature with the US economy. The brakes were applied and the turn operation commenced in Jan 2009. We are just seeing the results now.
It was utterly foolish of the American public to give the congressional mandate back to the same party that caused so much of the pain within just two years of President Obama taking office. We would have been in a much better place with a Democratic majority in both the chambers.
