Yep, you got that right. It's official:
Pat Buchanan is out of a job. What began as a suspension is now a termination.
Good riddance to bad rubbish.
Raw Story:
In a brief statement issued Thursday night, the network said simply: “After 10 years, we have decided to part ways with Pat Buchanan. We wish him well.”
The issue is statements contained within Pat's latest dead tree rant, one that is certain to end up in the dollar bin at Wal Mart, a thing called, “Suicide of a Superpower,” which contains a chapter called, “The End of White America.”
"Buchanan offers an astute diagnosis of America’s problems and gives constructive suggestions to put us back on track."
--Virgil Goode (Former Congressman R-VA), The Daily Caller
Well! That speaks volumes, doesn't it?
In the letter, Goode references the election of Muslim Rep.-elect Keith Ellison (D-MN), and warns “American citizens” to “wake up” or “there will likely be many more Muslims elected to office”
Birds of a feather and all that.
But I digress.
Color Of Change:
For years, Pat Buchanan has passed off white supremacist ideology as legitimate mainstream political commentary. And MSNBC continues to pay him and give him a platform on national TV to do it.
Buchanan just went on a white supremacist radio show to promote his new book -- which argues that increasing racial diversity is a threat to this country and will mean the "End of White America."
Please join us in demanding that MSNBC fire Pat Buchanan now.
Looks like that came through. One less hatemonger on the cablewaves can't help but be a good thing.
Bye-bye, Pat.
On race relations in the late 1940s and early 1950s: "There were no politics to polarize us then, to magnify every slight. The 'negroes' of Washington had their public schools, restaurants, bars, movie houses, playgrounds and churches; and we had ours." (Right from the Beginning, Buchanan's 1988 autobiography, p. 131)
