I thought I would try something tonight. Do Kogs and Kossacks really care if a personal diary is attached to Top Comments? I suspect not. I do not mean to disparage my fellow TCers in any way. I have read many great diaries in TC. But I wonder if this is the place for diaries. TC diaries rarely have anything to do with comments, mojo, or photo comments. If we really have something to say, shouldn't we publish it as our own diary or through a subject-related group? And if we don't have anything to say, why burden others with filler?
Top Comments, Top Mojo, and Top Photos are the real attraction, I think. So I'm going to skip the diary tonight, but I will include a poll. Use the comments portion as an Open Thread to talk about this or anything else you want to talk about.
Top Comments recognizes the previous day's Top Mojo and Top Photos and strives to promote each day's outstanding comments through nominations made by Kossacks like you. Please send us the comments you'd like to nominate (but not your own) either by email to topcomments@gmail.com or by our KosMail message board before 9:30pm ET. Just click on the Spinning Top™ to make a submission. Look for the Spinning Top™ to pop up in diaries posts around Daily Kos.
Make sure that you include the direct link to the comment (the URL), which is available by clicking on that comment's date/time. Please let us know your Daily Kos user name if you use email so we can credit you properly. If you send a writeup with the link, we can include that as well. The diarist poster reserves the right to edit all content.

Thanks to tonight's Top Comments contributors! Let us hear from YOU
when you find that great comment.
From gizmo59:
In Laurence Lewis' front page post A brief guide to the scientific consensus on climate change, two related comments caught my eye: Gooserock points to the futility of using politics in the U. S. to make progress on changing policy on energy use and climate change, while Grassroots Mom points out that even foreign business people have come to realize the importance of this issue and despair at the immobility of the political process in the U. S.
From Ed Tracey:
In the diary by Steven D about the student journalist punched in the face over her Op-Ed essay on marriage equality - this comment by detroitmechworks seems apt - "An ACTUAL attack on a liberal is always an isolated incident. A theoretical attack on a conservative is always a sign that all liberals are evil"
From KelleyRN2:
In my KosAbility diary today I mentioned using laughter to distract from pain. Annalize5 offered this video as proof that laughing helps.
From your humble diarist poster:
eastvan had this funny observation in Sunday Talk by Silly Rabbit (aka Trix).
In Mark Sumner's front page post You don't own me, zenox reveals the GOP mindset in this comment.
I like the wordplay in socalmonk's reply to a comment about overpopulation in Laurence Lewis's post about climate change.
