Although Overland Park voters send Marvin Kleeb to the Kansas House of Representatives to look after their best interests, Kleeb serves another master in Topeka. This week Kleeb may have an opportunity to vote on a bill his industry – Professional Employment Organizations – wants and that he dutifully had drafted. House Bill 2637 – which will allow employers to “wash” their workers compensation experience by outsourcing their personnel to PEOs – is not the first instance of Kleeb putting his own interests ahead of his constituents or hard working Kansas families.
"Marvin Kleeb's sole focus since he arrived in Topeka has been to force State government to outsource more work to private companies like his," said Terry Forsyth of the Working Kansas Alliance. "While outsourcing might be good for Kleeb and his friends in the PEO industry, it costs some working Kansans their jobs, and it drives down wages and benefits across the board."
Marvin Kleeb continues to push his selfish agenda by writing and shepherding legislation on behalf of his business and industry. Kleeb's legislative record is littered with efforts to lay groundwork for outsourcing state jobs, and now that the Secretary of Labor has changed he's working the regulatory side as well.
