NDFA went up Saturday to help Ilya Sheyman who is running for the democratic nomination in the IL-10 CD to run against Bob Dold.
When NDFA went up, the rest of the crew canvassed door-to-door. I stayed in teh office with my bum leg and did data entry.
Ilya is a past organizer for DFA and Move On. He's running a people-centered campaign with emphais on door-todoor, house meetings, and phone banking. Even so, he has raised over $400,000 as of the last reporting date. I'm told this has topped his main opponent, even though that guy has been contributing serious money to his primary campaign.
Whatever Democrats can raise in the 19th will be less than the money behind Dold. So, the door-knocking has to be our tactic in the general.
The 10th CD is the north-eastern corner of Illinois. Its largest city is Waukegan, but it contains a great slice of Chicago suburbs and exurbs.
Ilya can always use more Bucks If anyone is so inclined.
