At a speech given to the Americans for Prosperity forum in Troy Michigan yesterday, Rick Santorum told a cheering crowd of idiots that Obama is a snob for wanting everyone in America to be given the opportunity to go to college.
President Obama once said he wants everyone in America to go to college. What a snob (guffaws and applause from the pinheads). There are good decent men and women who go out and work hard every day and put their skills to test that aren't taught by some liberal college professor, and try to indoctrinate them (wild poo flinging). Oh I understand why he wants to you to go to college. He wants to remake you in his image. I want to create jobs so people can remake their children into their image, not his (and the crowd grunts and scrapes their knuckles on the floor in agreement).
Bolded commentary my own.
What. The. Hell. You would never know it to listen to him, but Rick did the unthinkable and went to evil higher educational institutions himself: Undergraduate degree from Pennsylvania State University, an M.B.A. from the University of Pittsburgh, and a law degree degree from the Dickinson School of Law.
So Obama is evil because he would like people to have equal access to education. He wants to remake you into his image. How terrible a fate that people should educate themselves so they may too one day be President of the United States. Or a doctor. Or a schoolteacher. Or an accountant. No. Please keep your children as stupid as possible so that they may fulfill their dreams of working at an Arby's and never question their indoctrination into the religious philosophy of Rick's choosing.
It never fails to amaze me how transparent the Republicans are about trying to deny education to our citizens. They know that we cannot have an educated electorate or the Republican party would cease to exist. The authoritarians would not have malleable minds to bend who are unquestioningly willing to buy their snake oil.
To quote that great thinker George Bush: Is our children learning?
