This is going to be a short post in an attempt to explain why the Right continues to bang the drums about voter fraud despite the overwhelming lack of evidence. The rhetoric is rooted in the "Real American" construct. A staple of Republican political rallies is a mention of "Real America." The implication is not so much that they are "Real Americans" but that non attendees are, by definition, not "Real Americans."
It is only in this context that someone who got 53% of the popular vote in the last election can be portrayed as "Anti-American." The logic follows as:
1) We (Conservatives/ Republicans) are "Real Americans"
2) Anyone not voting for Republicans are not "Real Americans."
3) By definition any vote cast for non Republicans was cast by someone who is not a "Real American" and therefore fraud.
