The connection is Bain Capital and Clear Channel Communication.
Clear Channel Communications is Rush Limbaugh's sponsor. Bain Capital owns Clear Channel Communications. Mitt Romney is proud of his role as the man who made his millions at Bain Capital.
And, now, we have a Presidential Campaign for Mitt Romney with 24 Hour a Day Talk Radio in which the leading Republican Presidential Candidate, Mitt Romney, does not represent the ideas and values of the Talking Heads of Talk Radio, but they have nothing bad to say about Mitt. And the question is, WHY?
The Media is beginning to explore the connection between Rush Limbaugh and Mitt Romney. It appears to be very straight and direct. Maybe, we should direct our questions about Limbaugh's statements to Mitt Romney!

“Nobody’s mentioned Clear Channel yet in the debate over Bain Capital’s role in the American economy. (After all, Bain’s been involved in a hundred or more deals.) But one TRI reader says “it was a little weird watching Sean Hannity defend Bain Capital in a discussion of free market capitalism – when I know that Bain has an interest in Hannity’s syndication company.” That’s Clear Channel-owned Premiere.

Maybe the person we should be petitioning is not the Republican member(s) of Congress, but Mitt Romney. It was Mitt who bragged about how much he liked to fire people who gave bad service; this would seem to qualify, and Mitt would seem to be, if at a sort of remove, Rush's boss, in that Rush broadcasts on his network. If Romney DOESN'T fire Rush, then it would certainly suggest his brag is nothing more than hot air, without substance, or.........that he approves of Rush's statements and agrees with them.

Wouldn’t it be great if a Republican presidential candidate could just buy the support of just about every major conservative talk show host in America? Well, it may not be as far-fetched as you may think.

Wouldn’t it be great if a Republican presidential candidate could just buy the support of just about every major conservative talk show host in America? Well, it may not be as far-fetched as you may think. Clear Channel owns more radio stations (850) than anyone else in the United States. They also own Premiere Radio Networks, the company that syndicates the radio shows of Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, and Glenn Beck, among others. Needless to say, Clear Channel basically owns conservative talk radio in the United States. So who owns Clear Channel? Well, it turns out that Bain Capital is one of the primary owners of Clear Channel. Yes, you read that correctly. The company that Mitt Romney ran for so long is one of the “big bosses” over virtually all conservative talk radio in America. Of course Mitt Romney is not running Bain Capital anymore. He is a “retired partner”, but he still has a huge financial stake in Bain Capital. We’re talking about millions upon millions of dollars. If you doubt this, just check out page 34 of this public financial disclosure report. So if you have been wondering why so many conservative talk show hosts are being so incredibly kind to Mitt Romney, this just might be the answer.

“Think about that the next time you're flipping channels on the radio and realize that Rush Limbaugh calls the candidates ‘Romney,’ ‘Non-Romney,’ and ‘Loony,’” noted Delaware elections examiner Angel Clark in a piece detailing the connections. “Why do these other candidates get called ‘Non-Romney’?”
Today, of course, Romney no longer leads the firm he co-founded, though Bain Capital and Bain & Co. are shoveling gargantuan sums of money into his campaign. But Romney still owns a huge stake in the company and profits handsomely from it, according to his financial disclosure report. And analysts say he undoubtedly still wields at least some degree of influence.
