Honest. It seemed like every picture I took of Itzl today was of him pottying. Timing, I guess.
Although I did manage a few other poses.
I was trying to photograph him pottying with his weight on his left leg, when a bird nesting in the shrub to his left flew out right under his nose - he's looking after the bird which was out of the camera shot area just that quickly. He's not sure if he should alert on it or ignore it.
Just a moment before, he was giving a wonderful little trot. I've been leash walking him to teach him to use his left leg in walking again, and told him if he could keep that back foot on the ground, then we could put the leash away. and just as the camera focused in - potty stop!
Again, I was attempting to get a picture of him actually prancing in his normal walk, when bazam! Potty stop! and look, I finally caught him putting weight on the left leg to potty.
Finally - a picture, a good one, of his prancing little walk:
Which didn't last long as a medevac flight passed overhead and he stopped to alert on it. This is his head after he'd gone through one "swoop" and before he looked at me to see if I caught the alert before repeating it.
And that was Itzl's lunch time adventure - walking on all four feet, most of the time. He still tucks the leg up if he wants to go faster, but he now listens to verbal commands to "Left foot down". I carried the leash with me just in case I needed to put him on it to remind him to walk on all fours, but when I gave the "left foot down" command, he'd look at the leash in my hand, drop his foot and trot off.
He learned the command really fast - I only worked with him on it yesterday at lunch, since the therapist said his leg was strong enough now to bear weight and he needed to start using it.
