Forgive me if this is not worthy of a diary...I am not often a diarist and am still learning the ropes. But I am extremely jazzed by Ohio State Senator Nina Turner's Senate Bill 307. It would require that, before getting a prescription for Viagra or other erectile dysfunction drugs, men would have to:
1. See a sex therapist
2. Receive a cardiac stress test
3. Get a notarized affidavit signed by a sexual partner affirming impotency
They would also have to receive counseling about possible side effects and receive information about “pursuing celibacy as a viable lifestyle choice.”
Are you loving this as much as I am?
Darn it, though, Ms. Turner is not up for re-election until 2014 (I just checked her web site). But I don't mind showing her some $$love, anyway!!
Quotes from State Senator Turner: “Even the FDA recommends that doctors make sure that assessments are taken that target the nature of the symptoms, whether it’s physical or psychological...I certainly want to stand up for men's health and take this seriously and legislate it the same way mostly men say they want to legislate a woman’s womb.”
Why aren't more sane politicians flooding their states with these bills? The more that get introduced, the more the point is made. I may have to start lobbying my Congressional rep tomorrow...in between emails to prior Limbaugh advertisers to make sure they know I am still watching them.
