Wow. Why isn't THIS on the major news networks? Last night, John Oliver had a special TWO-parter on how the U.S. cut off all funding to UNESCO because they allowed Palestine in as a member. Other countries stepped in to try to make up the difference, with the tiny country of Gabon pledging $2 million. So Oliver travelled to Gabon to see what life is like there, and how they've benefitted from UNESCO.
Videos below the fold.
Jon also looked at how Syrian dictator
Assad's e-mails were hacked, and what was found in them.
He then segued into a piece about a town in New Hampshire trying to
change the name of a place called "Jew Pond".
Because of John Oliver's special guest, this was a rare
Daily Show episode where Jon didn't have a guest. Unfortunately, they'll be taking all of next week off, which usually means some HUGE news will happen during that time. Beware.
