Full disclosure: This dog knows more about math than I ever will.
I suffer from
dyscalcula, which means that I have a learning disability in mathematics. Oh, I get the very basics.
Beyond that, it gets bewildering
and I have to apply my own special techniques.

The PWB diaries are a place to relax, share pictures and stories about our animal friends, LOL, and build community. If you like that, come on in and join us; if you don't like it, now's the time to click over to another diary. No crapping in the playground, please.
My limitation showed up when I was a child.
Word problems? Forget it.
Most people with dyscalcula have normal or accelerated language acquisition: verbal, reading, writing, and good visual memory for the printed word. So this was my attitude toward math:
No amount of tutoring could help.
This was my kind of pi.
Because of these limitations, I prefer the pootie/woozle approach to math, where, for the most part, it is used to calculate noms.
Though they are certainly capable of higher calculations.
