What is a vote worth? Is there a monetary price tag on an individual's vote?
I'm positive there is a way of assigning a price to every vote ever cast.
There's certainly a price tag for a Congressman's vote in Washington. That cost can be calculated quite easily, I'm sure. Even I could calculate the overall cost per vote on an individual bill in congress if I had the time and inclination.
So how much is your vote worth?
Our vote is the only true power we have as Americans. The underlying foundation of our freedom as a country is based on that power. Republicans have been trying to buy, sell and steal that power from Americans for decades.
Republicans have been willing to use our Democracy to manipulate our elections for decades. They are the kings of negative campaigning. They are the kings of accusations and blame. They are the kings of reprisal and retribution. They threaten, coerce, blackmail and lie to Americans to get elected into a position of power.
Republicans haven't won an election based on their own merits for decades. Republicans are the party who decry campaign finance rules which tend to even the playing field. Republicans are the party who use their religious and moral beliefs to override logic and reason and incite fear and hatred amongst the populous. Republicans use mandates, pledges and vows as ultimatums in their quest for obedience. They create false moral crises, demand immediate answers to these crises and then when people show confusion and uncertainty trying to answer these philosophical questions they pounce on them as being sinners or worse.
There is a reason why the majority of politicians are wealthy. Either they use government programs to enrich themselves or they receive contributions from corporations they enrich. Yet, they continue to get elected into office.
How is that possible? How do Republicans continue to get elected?
Does it truly come down to how much you spend?
