Former Irish leader Bertie Ahern and a slew of Irish politicians, have been excoriated by a Tribunal Report into corruption.
The Judges found that he lied repeatedly in his sworn testimony about excepting bribes from developer Owen O'Callaghan when he was Minister for Finance.
This paves the way for the prosecution of these politicians for corrupt practices and misrepresenting their mandate as public representatives.
I followed the Tribunal for several years and wrote a blog about it here, check it out...

The Report which is a whopping 3,500 pages long condemns Mr Ahern's lies under oath and describes a culture of "systemic" corruption within the Irish planning process.
To say this Report into corruption has caused a s**t-storm is an understatement, there has been wall to wall media coverage since this whole thing kicked off this morning when the Report was released.

Which all the main publications to go to town...
Many here believe nothing will change as a consequence of this, just lots of hot air and obfuscation.
For me however the Report represents a culmination of 15 years investigations into wrong doing in government and could signal a change in the way we do things, or not.
