If these polls hold up by November, Obama has an excellent chance that he will have 270 electoral votes to win re-election.
In a new survey, President Obama leads his GOP rivals in three crucial swing states.
In the latest Quinnipiac poll, Obama beats Mitt Romney and Rick Santorum in Florida, Ohio and Pennsylvania — all crucial battleground states heading into November.
Obama leads Romney 49 to 42 in Florida, and he beats Santorum in the Sunshine State 50 percent to 37 percent. In Ohio, Obama bests Romney 47 percent to 41 percent, and he beats Santorum 47 percent to 40 percent.
In Pennsylvania, Obama and Romney are locked in a closer race. Obama edges Romney 45 percent to 42 percent, but the former Massachusetts governor is well within the margin of error. Obama beats Santorum, a Pennsylvania native, in his home state 48 percent to 41 percent.
Obama's approval rating in Pennsylvania, however, still remains underwater, with 50 percent disapproval and 45 percent approval.
Among women, Obama leads both Romney and Santorum by between 6 to 19 points across the three states — but the race remains tight between male voters.
These polls along with the Virginia polls show that the difference in terms of whether President Obama wins re-election is the female vote. Romney does poorly among females.
