Yee Haw....I'm going to Netroots!
I apologize for taking several days to get a diary posted thanking everyone involved for voting for me in the DFA scholarship contest for Netroots 2012. I got the word late last week from Kaili Lambe that I had been selected, but I have been swamped with work and some intense research and couldn't seem to write my thanks sooner.
Kaili's diary provided:
"Bob Sloan, whose work around exposing ALEC and protecting voting rights is critical to protecting our democracy, are already members of the Kos community. Others, like Susan Bruce, who has been a peace activist since 1986, manage their own blogs or are active on local progressive blogs. There are online activists like Hivster, who is editor of an online magazine giving a voice to anyone living with or affected by HIV. In addition to the bloggers and writers, we’ve selected grassroots activists, like William Anderson, who was actually on his way to a protest when I called him yesterday to let him know about the scholarship. You can find out more about all fifteen of these fantastic scholars here."
For those who know of my work and attention to ALEC and Prison issues, rest assured I'll use this opportunity to network and garner support for our continuing protesting, demonstrating and push-back against this corrupt cabal.
If you're attending - look forward to seeing you there!!
