This is troubling. How is this going to restore any faith in the system? How will justice come out of this?
"...At this time, we are asserting an active criminal investigative information records exemption for any documents, videos, or factual information regarding the case," special prosecutor Angela Corey's office said in a statement..."

...Corey was appointed by Governor Rick Scott to take over the case after public confidence in the previous investigation faltered.
Her order would restrict video such as the surveillance camera images released by the city on Wednesday that showed Zimmerman arriving at the police station in handcuffs the night of the shooting...
It's too late to put the cat back in the bag, so to speak. Openness generally goes a lot further than restricted access when it comes to a situation where trust needs to be restored because information was not gathered and/or not released in the first place.
Furthermore, Sanford police have threatened reporters.
...On Wednesday the city went so far as to threaten to arrest reporters for stalking if they approached city employees seeking information in the case, only to rescind that threat on Thursday...
This case is a situation where trust has already been broken. I'm glad I don't live in Sanford. Or anywhere in Florida, for that manner. This could, however, happen in Alaska or elsewhere--wherever secrecy reigns over public access to public information.
Not a good development, even if somewhat understandable due to so much information already out there. Let's hope there is an arrest and charge of some kind soon. A charge that is fair and even-handed, and backed up by evidence that was actually gathered. But, who will ever know the truth with so many covering it up?
Scary. Not the first time in history this has happened. Perhaps this case resonates with so many because so many have experienced injustices at the hand of law enforcement or any kind of hate or unfair treatment for whatever reason? Any person who has ever been hurt by threats, violence, and/or lies of another, including local police and/or public officials, feels this case has been mishandled.
May openness and justice prevail, because, as a nation, we badly need it.
