The biggest April Fool of all is Art Robinson.

Biggest Fool of January through December, in fact. Art is "scientist" who denies climate change, evolution, HIV/AIDS, and, for all I know, isn't convinced about Galileo.
Art would abolish all public schools, and put radioactive waste in our drinking water, too.

Of course, he is a Republican.

But now, it seems, his son has morphed into a Democrat.

NOT.

Some of you already know Art Robinson. He has challenged Congressman Peter DeFazio (OR-4) before. Art Robinson is backed by big money from Wall Street, because Peter DeFazio wants to put a teeny-tiny transaction tax on the banksters and fraudsters. Robert Mercer (the billionaire who plays with model trains, mostly) is a super-special moneybuddy of Art's.

I've written about Art on these pages before. So has Troutfishing. (Troutfishing's diary is about racism. Art is, I believe, a racist, and a misogynist; Art will deny this, of course, even if he does write that women and blacks don't want to work and study as hard as some, uh, other people do.(“Severe, difficult, total-immersion training in science” is “an experience few women or blacks desire.” Access to Energy.))

It appears that Matthew Robinson is a little nut that did not fall far from the tree.

Anyway, you could help Peter DeFazio beat these nutjobs. Send Peter a little love.

You could visit Art Robinson's Facebook page, too. He'd like that.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.

  •  Will send some love but Robinson has as much (2+ / 0-)

chance as a turd in a rain storm. If they are targeting Defazio it is because he is so Oregonian progressive.

----and I think that Robinson will lose, again; I think that he rode the TeaParty wave of 2010, and that will be his high-water-mark--to continue the aquatic theme....
But Peter will be attacked with floods of $$$$$$$$$$ from Wall Street and Big Energy, so this contest is not certain.

      •  Money exposed is actually a detriment as those (2+ / 0-)

who have run in CA on thier own dime found out. Loud exposure of huge spending, especially in progressive and liberal dominated areas, makes it a negative.  But it is frightening to see how much money is flowing. THose Kochbros are truly evil.

We have a republican center on COburg road a few blocks form our house. I have been thinking of making poster sign to stick up there saying stuff about the money supporting these candidates on their signs. Figure I would have to put them up over and over again . LOL.

challenged by someone with the last name of Robinson, and told my hubby, I'll bet he is a relative of good old Art, LOL.

I remember a diary here about "democrats" in Washington State going along with the rethug budget or something - and figured the rw nuts were going to pull something like that in more states, including Oregon. And then we have states like Wisconsin, where radical rw nuts campaign on one thing to get the republican vote and turn around and literally gut everything for the mainstream folks.

What a mess our country is in. You know how the teapartiers say "we want to take our country back"? Well, IMHO, they already have it. I want the America I grew up in back!

    Just my two cents :)

Filberts are a beautiful delicious nut.  Art Robinson gives nuts a bad name.  Remember, DeFazio's district which includes some of the most conservative areas of Oregon, still reelected Peter.

but Art got closer than any challenger in years. Art was so looney that the Tea Party disavowed him.

But not my neighbors. They have their Art Robinson magnetic signs, lawn signs, and so on. A lot of the signs have been up for over two years now.

I live in precisely the conservative area you describe, and Douglas County actually voted for Robinson.

      Thank FSM for Lane County.
