In a move long anticipated, and frankly embarrassing in its delay, the Newt Gingrich campaign headqiuarters announced Thursday that its think tank was declaring intellectual bankruptcy due to its paucity of ideas to meet the soaring questions of constiuents.
Gringrich's main sponsor Sheldon Adelson was attributed as saying "I've had enough of this bullshit.". When contacted later by phone for affirmation Adelson asked "Did I stutter?"
When Gingrich was later queried at a sparsely attended campaign event he appeared not to have been informed of the decision.
"Frankly, I'm outraged that you would ask me such a question," Gingrich stated although nobody had actually asked anything of him. "This is typical of the gotcha mentality of the lame stream media who latch on to rumors."
Gingrich's response was abruptly interrupted by a wildly gesticulating handler. Gingrich then spent several minutes staring at the ground while listening intently to a cell phone. He was then whiisked away without responding further.
